The AAA national average for a gallon of regular gasoline fell to $4.058 Saturday, down 1.8 cents from Friday. It marks the seventh consecutive daily decline and the lowest national average in over a month.

Week-over-week, pump prices are down 7.7 cents. Despite the Strait of Hormuz re-closure announced Saturday, the earlier decline in crude oil (WTI fell 11.45% Friday) continues to flow through to wholesale and retail prices.

California remains the most expensive state at $5.829. Oklahoma is cheapest at $3.413. Texas sits at $3.708, Hawaii at $5.666, and the Northeast cluster (NJ $3.96, MA $3.95, DE $3.93) remains below $4.

Monday’s crude trading will set the direction for pump prices over the coming days. If WTI rebounds sharply on the Hormuz re-closure, the weekly decline trend could reverse. Diesel nationally is $5.570, still elevated due to global distillate tightness.
