EnergyPricesToday.com publishes live energy market data refreshed continuously throughout each trading session, with explicit freshness indicators on every price card so readers can see exactly when each datapoint was last updated and how often it refreshes.
Live commodity prices — including WTI crude, Brent crude, Dubai, OPEC Basket, regional crude blends, RBOB gasoline, ULSD heating oil, Henry Hub natural gas, Dutch TTF, JKM LNG, and refined product benchmarks — are sourced from our primary commodity data partner with five-minute API polling during open trading hours. After market close, weekend, and holiday periods, the displayed value is the last available session close.
Retail gasoline and diesel prices are sourced from the American Automobile Association's Daily Fuel Gauge Report. Refresh frequency is daily, with state-by-state and metro-level data available on our gas prices page. AAA publishes new averages each morning U.S. Eastern time.
U.S. crude oil and refined product inventory data is sourced from the EIA's Weekly Petroleum Status Report, released each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. ET. The most recent inventory and SPR figures are reflected in our oil-prices and rig-count coverage on the same day the EIA report is released.
U.S. and Canada drilling rig counts are sourced from the Baker Hughes North American Rig Count, released each Friday afternoon. International rig counts are released monthly, typically in the first week of the following month. Our rig count page reflects the most recent release.
Stock prices for energy companies are sourced from Finnhub with 8-second-timeout API polling on page load and on user-triggered refresh. We display the most recent trade price plus session change with explicit "Not Available" fallbacks for any ticker the API can't return.
